INTRODUCING SOLID FOODS

Are you ready to start adding organic foods to your baby's diet? The following are some tried-and-true tips:

Introduce variety

It's important for your baby to try foods with different flavors. The best way to do this? Start by cooking up a variety of organic vegetables. Puree or mash them together. Suggested vegetables include: organic carrots, potato, peas, butternut squash, and sweet potatoes.

Incorporate Iron

Because much of Baby's iron consumption comes from breast milk, it's important to find a substitute when you wean. Consider pureeing organic meats and poultry, lentils or other beans and serve YoBaby Plus Fruit & Cereal with Iron. And because vitamin C helps the body to absorb iron better, incorporate foods rich in vitamin C into Baby's diet.

Don't forget the calcium

To ensure your baby grows up with strong bones, always be sure to include plenty of calcium in your little one's diet. Additionally, studies show that children who consume more calcium have less body fat. YoBaby yogurts contain ample amounts of calcium. Plus, they're organic, which means you don't have to worry and Baby's happy!

Add organic milk

While breast milk or formula can be Baby's main milk source for the first 12 months, it's perfectly okay to start incorporating regular milk in Baby's meal preparation. And when they're ready to drink milk as part of their daily diet, consider Stonyfield Farm Organic Milk.

Limit empty foods

As we get older, we tend to fill our diets with treats and goodies. But your little one doesn't need empty calories. Make sure you limit the nutrient-less calories and added sugar that have little nutritional value and increase obesity risks and future cavities. Instead, incorporate plenty of fruits and vegetables to help your little one stay healthy right from the start!
