NUTRITIONAL TIPS FOR TODDLERS
As your child continues to grow and develop, it may become more challenging to get your child to eat healthy foods and snacks. However, it's not impossible. The following are some techniques to encourage healthy eating among picky eaters:
Don't give up
It may take some time, but finicky babies may learn to like certain foods as they become more familiar with them. Keep trying!
Bribing is bad
Don't bribe your kids to eat good foods by offering rewards like dessert or being excused from the table. Eating healthfully should be its own reward.
Increase variety with familiarity
Your child is more likely to eat something new if it's paired with something he or she already likes.
Don't force food
Creating anxiety around mealtime is not the right approach to encourage healthy eating. Remember, patience is a virtue parents should practice!
Stock your pantry with healthy foods
Kids are more likely to choose healthy food options when they're readily available. (And you will, too!)
Practice what you preach
If you eat healthy meals and snacks, chances are your child will too.
Relax.
Remember, nobody's perfect! Just do the best you can to encourage healthy eating and relax. (You're doing just fine!)
